  • YHWH/Yeshua/Torah: Who killed Yeshua haMashiyach?

    shoftim (judges)

Few days ago I received and learned something new very interesting.  Share with you all:

"Appoint judges [shoftim] and officials [shotrim] for each of your tribes in every town the Lord your God is giving you, and they shall judge [shafat] the people fairly [tzedek mishpat / righteous judgment]." (Deuteronomy 16:18)

    Who killed Yeshua haMashiyach?

Yeshua did not receive a trial by jury. In Jewish law, the judge would hear and evaluate accusation from two impartial witnesses. If two or three witnesses would agree, the judge would issue a conviction; but in Yeshua’s case, the witnesses against Him presented false testimony.

"The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for testimony against Yeshua to put Him to death, but they could find none. For many were giving false testimony against Him, but the testimonies did not agree." (Mark 14:55–56)

Because the testimony of the witnesses did not agree, the judges could not convict him.

Thus, the Sanhedrin had no other choice but to ask Yeshua directly if He claimed to be the Messiah, the Son of God—a charge to which He confessed, thereby positioning Himself as being guilty of blasphemy, which carried the death penalty.

"Again the high priest questioned Him, ‘Are You the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?’

"‘I am,’ said Yeshua, ‘and all of you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.’

"Then the high priest tore his robes and said, ‘Why do we still need witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy! What is your decision?’

"And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death." (Mark 14:61–64)

  • YHWH/Yeshua/Torah: Isaiah 50:10

    YHWH anoint you

    Andrew G Roth:
In this Haftorah portion, there is one thing that Yeshayahu (Isaiah) mentions that would clearly cause him to oppose one of the most famous Rabbinic extra scriptural rulings. What does Yeshayahu demand that the Rabbis have disagreed with him on?

Which of you fears Yahweh and listens to his servant's voice? Which of you walks in darkness and sees no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and lean on his God! (Isaiah 50:10 NJB)

So Yeshayahu is telling people to trust in the NAME of Yahweh and RELY on it, and the Rabbis are saying the opposite by banning the Name!

  • YHWH/Yeshua/Torah: You denied (rejected) the Holy One and the Just

    Acts 3 about Holy One

    YHWH/Yeshua/Torah cannot be separated.

The Book of Acts 3 Chapter: this scripture verses are very powerful message for everyone read first then read Acts 3:11-26 TLV.

Acts 3:1-12 TLV A Lame Beggar Walks

1Now Peter and John were going up to the Temple at the ninth hour, the time of prayer.

2A man lame from birth was being carried—every day they used to put him at the Temple gate called Beautiful, so he could beg for tzedakah from those entering the Temple.

3When he saw Peter and John about to go into the Temple, he began asking to receive tzedakah.

4But Peter, along with John, looked straight at him and said, "Look at us!"

5So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

6But Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give to you—in the name of Yeshua ha-Mashiach ha-Natzrati, get up and walk!"

7Then grabbing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately the man’s feet and ankles were made strong.

8Jumping up, he stood and began walking; and he went with them into the Temple, walking and leaping and praising God!

9Now all the people saw him walking and praising God.

10They began to realize he was the one who used to sit begging for tzedakah at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple, and they were filled with wonder and astonishment over what had happened to him.

HalleluYAH! The above verse 6 is the powerful message in the Name of Yeshua ha-Mashiach ha-Natzrati. Amein?

    Peter Speaks at the Temple

11While he was clinging to Peter and John, all the people together came running toward them in the place called Solomon’s Portico.

12But when Peter saw, he responded to the people, "Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this? Why do you stare at us—as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

    Please read slow joyfully:

13The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Servant Yeshua—the One you handed over and disowned before Pilate, though he had decided to release Him.

14But you rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you.

15You killed the Author of life—the One God raised from the dead! We are witnesses of it.

16Now through faith in the name of Yeshua, His name has strengthened this man whom you see and know. Indeed, the faith through Yeshua has given this man perfect health in front of you all.

17"Now brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your leaders did.

18But what God foretold through the mouth of all His prophets—that His Messiah was to suffer—so He has fulfilled.

19Repent, therefore, and return—so your sins might be blotted out,

20so times of relief might come from the presence of Adonai and He might send Yeshua, the Messiah appointed for you.

21Heaven must receive Him, until the time of the restoration of all the things that God spoke about long ago through the mouth of His holy prophets.

22Moses said, ‘Adonai your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. Hear and obey Him in all that He shall say to you.

23And it shall be that every soul that will not listen to that Prophet shall be completely cut off from the people.’

24Indeed, all the prophets who have spoken from Samuel on have announced these days.

25You are the sons of the prophets and also of the covenant that God cut with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘In your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’

26God raised up His Servant and sent Him first to you, to bless you all by turning each of you from your wicked ways."

    Torah Parashah 48: Shof'tim (Judges):

Haftarah Reading on Isaiah 51:12 to Isaiah 53:12

Deep thought of YHWH/Yeshua/Torah: First, remember YHWH/Yeshua/Torah cannot be separated.

    Hineni means Here I am

    Isaiah 52:6 TLV

6Therefore My people will know My Name. Therefore in that day, I am the One who will be saying, ‘Hineni!’"

    Isaiah 52:1-12 TLV Salvation

1Awake, awake! Clothe yourself in your strength, Zion! Clothe yourself in beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city, for the uncircumcised and the unclean will never invade you again.

2Shake off the dust and arise! Be enthroned, Jerusalem. Loose the bonds off your neck, captive Daughter of Zion.

3For thus says Adonai: "You were sold for nothing. So you will be redeemed without silver."

4For thus says Adonai Elohim: "At first My people went down to Egypt to reside there, then the Assyrian oppressed them for nothing.

5"Now therefore, what do I have here?" —it is a declaration of Adonai— "My people are taken away for nothing? Its rulers wail" —it is Adonai’s declaration— "and My Name is continually blasphemed all day long.

6Therefore My people will know My Name. Therefore in that day, I am the One who will be saying, ‘Hineni!’"

7How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who announces shalom, who brings good news of happiness, who announces salvation, who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

8The voice of your watchmen— they will lift up their voices. Together they are shouting for joy! For they will see eye to eye when Adonai returns to Zion.

9Break forth in joy, sing together, you ruins of Jerusalem, for Adonai has comforted His people. He has redeemed Jerusalem.

10Adonai has bared His holy arm before the eyes of all the nations. All the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.

11Leave, leave! Get out of there! Touch no unclean thing. Go out of her midst. Purify yourselves, you who carry the vessels of Adonai.

12For you will not go out in haste, nor will you go in flight, for Adonai will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

    Hineni: Here I am

    Exodus 3:4 TLV

4When Adonai saw that he turned to look, He called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" So he answered, "Hineni."

Exodus 3:1-22 Angel (Messenger) of ADONAI in a Burning Bush

1Now Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. So he led the flock to the farthest end of the wilderness, coming to the mountain of God, Horeb.

2Then the angel of Adonai appeared to him in a flame of fire from within a bush. So he looked and saw the bush burning with fire, yet it was not consumed.

3Moses thought, "I will go now, and see this great sight. Why is the bush not burnt?"

4When Adonai saw that he turned to look, He called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" So he answered, "Hineni."

5Then He said, "Come no closer. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground."

6Moreover He said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." So Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

7Then Adonai said, "I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their slave masters, for I know their pains.

8So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, to bring them up out of that land into a good and large land, a land flowing with milk and honey, into the place of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

9Now behold, the cry of Bnei-Yisrael has come to Me. Moreover I have seen the oppression that the Egyptians have inflicted on them.

10Come now, I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people Bnei-Yisrael out from Egypt."

11But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and bring Bnei-Yisrael out of Egypt?"

12So He said, "I will surely be with you. So that will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you. When you have brought the people out of Egypt: you will worship God on this mountain."

13But Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to Bnei-Yisrael and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His Name?’ What should I say to them?"

14God answered Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. " Then He said, "You are to say to Bnei-Yisrael, ‘I AM’ has sent me to you."

15God also said to Moses: "You are to say to Bnei-Yisrael, Adonai, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My Name forever, and the Name by which I should be remembered from generation to generation.

16"Go now, gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them: ‘Adonai, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—has appeared to me, saying, I have been paying close attention to you and have seen what is done to you in Egypt.

17So I promise I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt, into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.’

18"They will listen to your voice. So you will go, you along with the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and say to him: ‘Adonai, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to Adonai our God.’

19Nevertheless, I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go, except by a mighty hand.

20So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders that I will do in the midst of it. After that, he will let you go.

21"Then I shall grant these people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians. So it will happen that when you go, you will not leave empty-handed.

22Every woman is to ask her neighbor and the woman who lives in her house for silver and gold jewelry and clothing. You will put them on your sons and your daughters. So you will plunder the Egyptians."

  • YHWH/Yeshua/Torah: I even I am He that comforts you on Isaiah 51:12

    Isaiah 51 I even I am He

    Shabbat Shalom!

    Today is 8 Elul.

    Torah Parashah 48: Shof'tim (Judges):

Haftarah Reading on Isaiah 51:12 to Isaiah 53:12

Deep thought of YHWH/Yeshua/Torah: First, remember YHWH/Yeshua/Torah cannot be separated.

Isaiah 51:12 TLV "I, I am the One who comforts you. Who are you that you should fear man, who dies, or a son of man, who is given up like grass?"

    Andrew G. Roth:

ANOCHI, ANOCHI (51:12) = I, I. A double amplifier of "I" or "I am", but also suggesting Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh (I am that I am). In Aramaic ENA is just "I" but the "double I" is ENA NA, which suggests Abba YHWH as well. When you amplify then this word, it is a very special message showing Abba YHWH’s presence with Israel to be beyond intense and amazing.

BEN ADAM (51:12) = son of man. Showing perhaps Y’shua’s vulnerability in prophetic form, the son of man can be killed, but also triumphs after death. The phrase "man" already appears, so the implication is "son of man" is separate from the rest of humanity.

Isaiah 51:12-23 TLV (you can read whole chapter Smile!)

12"I, I am the One who comforts you. Who are you that you should fear man, who dies, or a son of man, who is given up like grass?"

13But you forgot Adonai your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. Are you in constant dread all day because of the fury of the oppressor as he makes ready to destroy? But where is the fury of the oppressor?

14Soon one bowed down will be released. He will not die and go to the Pit, nor will his bread be lacking.

15"For I am Adonai your God, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—Adonai-Tzva’ot is His Name.

16I have put My words in your mouth, and covered you with the shadow of My hand— I who set the heavens in place, who laid the foundations of the earth, and say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’"

17Awake, awake! Stand up, Jerusalem! From Adonai’s hand you have drunk the cup of His fury, the chalice of reeling that you have drained to the dregs.

18There is none to guide her among all the sons she has borne, nor is there one to take her by the hand among all the sons she has raised.

19These two things have befallen you —who will mourn for you?— devastation and destruction, famine and the sword. How will I comfort you?

20Your sons have fainted. They lie at every street corner, like an antelope in a net. They are full of Adonai’s fury, the rebuke of your God.

21Therefore hear this, you who are afflicted, who are drunk, but not with wine.

22Thus says your Lord, Adonai your God who defends His people: "Behold, I have taken from your hand the cup of reeling, the bowl of My wrath. You will never drink it again.

23Then I will put it into the hand of your tormentors, who said to you, ‘Lie down, so we may walk over you.’ You have made your back like the ground and like a street for passersby.

  • YHWH/Yeshua/Torah: ETHANIM means “flowing”

    flowing stream

Andrew G Roth's Torah Parasha #48 Shoftim means "judges"

Interesting!   First share and read scripture verse:

Deut. 21:4 ESV And the elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a valley with running water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifer's neck there in the valley.

Deu 21:4 KJV And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer's neck there in the valley

    KJV: rough

    'êythân <-----------------look

    BDB Definition:

    1) perpetual, constant, perennial, ever-flowing

    1a) ever-flowing (of a stream)

    1b) permanence, permanent, enduring (figuratively)

    Part of Speech: adjective

A Related Word by BDB/Strong’s Number: from an unused root (meaning to continue)

Same Word by TWOT Number: 935a

    Andrew G Roth:

ETHAN (21:4) = swift flowing stream. This is why the month of Tishri was originally called by this name…

All the men of Israel assembled themselves to King Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month. (1 Kings 8:2 NAU)

So ETHANIM means "flowing", because by its end the early rains come. The name was later changed to Babylonian TISHRITU, or "opening" which may refer to fall harvest or to the waters that were FLOWING (Ethanim) opening or going over their banks.

  • YHWH/Yeshua/Torah: Update about Feasts in the Autumn (Fall) 2015

    YahwehsFeasts

YHWH's Holy Feasts in 2015: Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot.

    The Refiner's Fire:

    • Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets/New Year) begins at sunset Se‌ptember 13.

    • Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) begins sunset Se‌ptember 22.

    • Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) begins at sunset Se‌ptember 27.

Tip: Weather permitting, go outside at sunset, Se‌ptember 27, and watch the Full Moon rise, and this year's special treat - a total Lunar eclipse early that evening! Depending on where you live, the moon will rise a little before or after sunset, that night. But watch the glorious "announcement" of Sukkot and the Eclipsed Full Moon! The last day of Sukkot begins at sunset Oc‌tober 4th (sunset of the 5th denotes the end of Sukkot). [Note: For parts of western Europe, the eclipse is in the early morning hours of Se‌ptember 28th as the moon is setting. The moon sets as the sun rises in Israel while the eclipse is still in progress.]

Here is some quick info about Yom Teruah/Rosh Hashana:

Yom Teruah /Rosh Hashana (New Year) denotes the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve and their first actions toward the realization of man's role in the world; of the first sin that was committed and resulting repentance; a day when YHWH takes stock of all of His Creation, which includes all of humanity. Leviticus 23:‌23-‌25 says: ADONAI said to Moshe, "Tell the people of Isra'el, 'In the seventh month, the first of the month is to be for you a day of complete rest for remembering, a holy convocation announced with blasts on the shofar. Do not do any kind of ordinary work, and bring an offering made by fire to ADONAI.'"

Rosh Hashanah is the first day of the month of Tishri, the seventh month of the Hebrew religious calendar as ordained in the Torah, in Leviticus 23:‌23-‌25. It is the first of the High Holy Days or Yamim Noraim ("Days of Awe"), or Asseret Yemei Teshuva (The Ten Days of Repentance) which are days specifically set aside to focus on repentance that conclude with the holiday of Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). Rosh Hashanah is considered the start of the civil year, but the 7th month of the Hebrew calendar which was instituted by YHWH Himself in Exodus 12:‌2.

Please check out our article on why there are two new years.
    http://therefinersfire.org/two_new_years2.htm

Rosh Hashanah is observed as a day of rest (Leviticus 23:‌24) and is characterized by the blowing of the shofar - a trumpet made from a ram's horn intended to awaken the listener from his or her "slumber" and alert them to the coming judgment. On this day, there are a number of additions to the regular synagogue services, most notably an extended repetition of the Amidah prayer. The traditional Hebrew greeting on Rosh Hashanah is shana tova for "a good year", or shana tova umetukah for "a good and sweet year." Because believers are being judged by God for the coming year, a longer greeting translates as "may you be written and sealed for a good year."

Readings for Yom Teruah: Genesis 21:‌1-‌34, Leviticus 23, Numbers 29:‌1-‌6, 1 Samuel 1:‌1-‌2:‌10, Matthew 1:‌1-‌21 and Luke 4:‌14-‌44.

For a description of all the Fall Feasts, please see our article: God's High Holy Days. (And by the way, did you know that Y'shua has so far fulfilled the first FOUR of the Seven Feasts? It's true! Check it out in our article.)

    http://www.therefinersfire.org/jewish_holidays.htm

    By the way!

We are now experiencing T'shuvah - the 40 days of Turning and Repentance, so, if you haven't done so, this is the time to repent of any sins and mend broken relationships, etc. It is a time to allow the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) to lead us in searching our hearts, so we can repent and confess our sins before YHWH and man, and if necessary, make restitution before the Day of Atonement arrives on Se‌ptember 22 at sunset. YHWH asks us to be holy (Lev 11:‌45), and these days of T'shuvah help us humble ourselves before Him and acknowledge our shortcomings in that regard.

““While I was watching, thrones were set up, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His garment was as white as snow, and the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was ablaze with flames, its wheels a burning fire. A river of fire was flowing and coming out from before Him. Thousands of thousands attended Him and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, and the books were opened. “I kept watching because of the boastful words that the horn was speaking. I continued watching until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion had been taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time. “I was watching in the night visions. Behold, One like a Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days, and was brought into His presence. Dominion, glory and sovereignty were given to Him that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will never pass away, and His kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.” Daniel 7:9-14 TLV

Yeshua haMashiyach is the Living Torah of Abba YHWH to serve:

“Now as Yeshua was going up to Jerusalem, He took the Twelve aside privately; and on the way he told them, “Look, we’re going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the ruling kohanim and Torah scholars. They will condemn Him to death and hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify. Yet on the third day, He will be raised up.” Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came with her sons to Yeshua, and she was kneeling down and asking something from Him. “What do you want?” He said to her. She said to Him, “Declare that these two sons of mine might sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your kingdom.” But Yeshua replied, “You don’t know what you’re asking! Are you able to drink the cup I am about to drink?” “We are able,” they say to Him. He said to them, “You shall indeed drink My cup. But to sit on My right and left, this isn’t Mine to grant. Rather, it’s for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.” Now when the ten heard, they became indignant with the two brothers. But Yeshua called them over and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones play the tyrant over them. It shall not be this way among you. But whoever wants to be great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you shall be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”” Matthew 20:17-28 TLV

    Plow: In Samaria Yeshua walked.

Luke 9:62 TLV But Yeshua said to him, “No one who has put his hand to the plow and looked back is fit for the kingdom of God.””

Remember:  YHWH/Yeshua/Torah cannot be separated.  This above verse means do not look back and continually serve, walk, obey and take heed the One Voice of YHWH and His Kingdom. Amein?

    Luke 9:51-62 TLV

“When the days were approaching for Him to be taken up, Yeshua was determined to go up to Jerusalem. He sent messengers before Him, and they went and entered a Samaritan village to make His arrangements. But they did not receive Him, because He was focused on going up to Jerusalem. When His disciples Jacob and John saw this, they said, “Master, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” But Yeshua turned and rebuked them. Then they moved on to another village. As they were traveling on the road, someone said to Him, “I will follow You wherever You go.” But Yeshua said to him, “Foxes have dens and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” He said to another, “Follow Me.” But that one said, “First let me go and bury my father.” But Yeshua said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead. But you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Then another also said, “I will follow You, Master, but first let me say goodbye to those in my home.” But Yeshua said to him, “No one who has put his hand to the plow and looked back is fit for the kingdom of God.””

  • YHWH/Yeshua/Torah: Pharisees means separated ones

    pharisees

Pharisees means separated ones. [separatists]. In that time of Yeshua was in Yisrael: They were not all priests - zealous authority of law keepers who wanted their own interpretations of the Torah to be standard in Yisrael.

Yeshua described them: they were fraud religious loved money and wanted to be final authority on all doctrines that taught to all people. They refused dealings with Yeshua the Living Torah. They hated and wanted to kill, stone and mocked Him. Separated ones means separated to God. Hypocrites!

YHWH/Yeshua/Torah cannot be separated. Yeshua [Living Torah] is the Light shine "separated ones" can't stand His Truth.  Yeshua is the Way, the Truth, and the Life no one comes to Father [Abba YHWH is Spirit/Ruach] except through Me [Yeshua]!

“Yeshua said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life! No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  John 14:6 TLV

    TimaTheus Aleph (1st Timothy) 3:16

16 And without controversy, great is the mystery of uprightness: Elohim was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by messengers (angels), preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.

Yeshua [Word/Torah] is Manifestation of YHWH. Amein?

Nowdays watch out "separated ones". Flee!

The photo of Pharisees: The Aramaic text of the Peshitta preserves some interesting aspects worth mentioning:

1). This specific passage doesn't mention it, but we know from the other passages that He was in the house of a Preesha (Pharisee = "Separated One/Distinct One"). This is the house where Yeshua would be "separated/distinct" from everyone else -- His anointing would signify this unique role. Shemun the Preesha only *thinks* he is the “set apart” person; He is about to find out that Yeshua Himself will be the one who becomes “most distinguished” among all the people in the house.

May YHWH bless your spiritual seeking His Truth and read His Torah thru Yeshua haMashiyach is the Answer. Amein?

  • Hourglass of YHWH

    hourglass of YHWH

The Day of YHWH suddenly comes back one day:
“Loved ones, this is now the second letter that I am writing to you. In both I am trying to stir you up by way of a reminder to wholesome thinking— to remember the words previously proclaimed by the holy prophets and the commandment of our Lord and Savior through your emissaries. First of all, understand that in the last days, scoffers will come scoffing, following after their own desires and saying, “Where is this promise of His coming? Ever since the fathers died, everything goes on just as it has from the beginning of creation.” For in holding to this idea, it escapes their notice that the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God. Through these, the world of that time was destroyed by being flooded with water. But by the same word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire—kept until the Day of Judgment and the destruction of ungodly people. But don’t forget this one thing, loved ones, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some consider slowness. Rather, He is being patient toward you—not wanting anyone to perish, but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that day the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the elements will melt and disintegrate, and the earth and everything done on it shall be exposed. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what kind of people should you be? Live your lives in holiness and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God. In that day the heavens will be dissolved by fire, and the elements will melt in the intense heat. But in keeping with His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.”
    2 Peter 3:1-13 TLV
