Give thanksgiving to YHWH every moment daily!
Shalom Mischpocha!
Would like to share with you all: Give thanksgiving to YHWH Everlasting Father every moment daily thru Yeshua HaMashiyach!
Last night I received very awesome thanksgiving with blessed scripture verses:
Dear Mishpochah (Family):
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I am taking this opportunity to ask blessings on you all and to thank you for being friends of The Refiner's Fire as this ministry continues to strive to present undiluted Biblical Truth to the world.
Some have written to me in the past to ask if Thanksgiving is a pagan holiday, and my response was a resounding "NO!" Unlike Christmas and Easter, Thanksgiving does not masquerade as a Biblical holy day. It is merely a day set aside for Americans to give thanks to YAHWEH for America and all our blessings.
While the Pilgrims and the Native Americans did partake in a three-day feast in the autumn of 1621, Thanksgiving did not become a national holiday until 1863 when Abraham Lincoln, in the midst of the Civil War, set aside the last Thursday of November as a day of National Thanksgiving.
Lincoln wrote:
It has seemed to me fit and proper that [the gifts of God] should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged with one heart and one voice by the whole American people. I do, therefore, invite my fellow citizens . . . to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens.
So as you sit down with your families and friends tomorrow, remember this season is a vitally important reminder to give thanks to the God of all creation for His love, mercy and favor in our lives, and in the lives of our families, friends and country - and most of all, for giving us His Son who became our Final Sin Sacrifice!
Psalm 107 Chapter:
1 Give thanks to YHWH; for he is good, for his grace continues forever. 2 Let those redeemed by ADONAI say it, those he redeemed from the power of the foe. 3 He gathered them from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea. 4 They wandered in the desert, on paths through the wastes, without finding any inhabited city. 5 They were hungry and thirsty, their life was ebbing away. 6 In their trouble they cried to ADONAI, and he rescued them from their distress. 7 He led them by a direct path to a city where they could live. 8 Let them give thanks to YHWH for his grace, for his wonders bestowed on humanity! 9 For he has satisfied the hungry, filled the starving with good. 10 Some lived in darkness, in death-dark gloom, bound in misery and iron chains, 11 because they defied God's word, scorned the counsel of the Most High. 12 So he humbled their hearts by hard labor; when they stumbled, no one came to their aid.
13 In their trouble they cried to YHWH, and he rescued them from their distress. 14 He led them from darkness, from death-dark gloom, shattering their chains. 15 Let them give thanks to YHWH for his grace, for his wonders bestowed on humanity! 16 For he shattered bronze doors and cut through iron bars. 17 There were foolish people who suffered affliction because of their crimes and sins; 18 they couldn't stand to eat anything; they were near the gates of death. 19 In their trouble they cried to YHWH, and he rescued them from their distress; 20 he sent his word and healed them, he delivered them from destruction. 21 Let them give thanks to YHWH for his grace, for his wonders bestowed on humanity! 22 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and proclaim his great deeds with songs of joy. 23 Those who go down to the sea in ships, plying their trade on the great ocean, 24 saw the works of YHWH, his wonders in the deep. 25 For at his word the storm-wind arose, lifting up towering waves.
26 The sailors were raised up to the sky, then plunged into the depths. At the danger, their courage failed them, 27 they reeled and staggered like drunk men, and all their skill was swallowed up. 28 In their trouble they cried to YHWH, and he rescued them from their distress. 29 He silenced the storm and stilled its waves, 30 and they rejoiced as the sea grew calm. Then he brought them safely to their desired port. 31 Let them give thanks to YHWH for his grace, for his wonders bestowed on humanity! 32 Let them extol him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the leaders' council. 33 He turns rivers into desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground, 34 productive land into salt flats, because the people living there are so wicked.
35 But he also turns desert into pools of water, dry land into flowing springs; 36 there he gives the hungry a home, and they build a city to live in; 37 there they sow fields and plant vineyards, which yield an abundant harvest. 38 He blesses them, their numbers grow, and he doesn't let their livestock decrease. 39 When their numbers fall, and they grow weak, because of oppression, disaster and sorrow, 40 he pours contempt on princes and leaves them to wander in trackless wastes. 41 But the needy he raises up from their distress and increases their families like sheep. 42 When the upright see this, they rejoice; while the wicked are reduced to silence. 43 Let whoever is wise observe these things and consider YHWH's loving deeds.
There is a recent trend by some believers to show that Thanksgiving Day in America is linked to the Levitical Feasts and the various offerings. To support their idea, they cite scriptures such as Leviticus 3:17 and 7:12-15. So, are they correct in their assessment? Please see the below:
_______
While it's a nice idea to believe that America's Thanksgiving Day is rooted in the Bible, the fact is, it is not. Our Thanksgiving Day in America has nothing whatsoever to do with what YHWH told Israel thousands of years ago. Thanksgiving Day in America started solely because our country was founded "under God" and our leaders decided to turn it into a national holiday.
Leviticus 3:17 and Lev 7:11-15 are all about PEACE offerings that have nothing to do with our national "Thanksgiving Day" in America. These passages weren't referring to any kind of holy day; they were discussing PEACE offerings to be done by the cohanim for YHWH's people. America, as a whole, does NOT follow any of the Biblical Feasts nor bother with offerings. Americans, as a whole, don't follow Torah at all; they're into "Christmas and Easter" and man-made ideas that have nothing whatsoever to do with YHWH.
Thanksgiving Day in America is supposed to be a day of thanksgiving to God – but, judging from what we see on television, it's all about commercialism and eating turkey and ham and stuffing ourselves, and many don't bother thinking of God at all on Thanksgiving as they refer to it as "Turkey Day." Thanksgiving Day has nothing whatsoever to do with the Levitical laws given in Israel thousands of years ago.
If Thanksgiving Day WERE rooted in the Bible, we would have yet another "pagan" holiday on our hands because today, Thanksgiving dinner on many tables includes "unclean foods" such as ham and white gravy with bacon bits, and Jell-O and all sorts of other things YHWH does not approve of.
So be it! Please read Colossians 2 Chapter.
